Stefan obtained his PhD in 2006 from Lund University within the subject area of building and architecture. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in Construction Management and his main interest is within research topics such as stakeholder management, construction project management, property development, property management and procurement. Stefan is a Board Member of the “Centre for Real Estate Management”, which represents collaboration between real estate companies and academia based on the Swedish side of the Öresund region.
Stefan has been a strong voice in developing the knowledge about stakeholder management in construction posing such questions as “who are the relevant stakeholders in different stages of a construction project and how do they affect the outcome of the project; and what strategies can be adapted in the stakeholder management process to reduce uncertainty and improve the possibilities of a successful project?” In addition, Stefan has been interested in research concerning property management and property development. This area also includes the topic of facilities management where the need for research, from a Swedish perspective, is evident. This covers the role of the construction client in these processes.
Stefan has provided insights within the field of construction management by publishing papers, articles, reports, books and book chapter to a wide array of audiences from fellow researchers within the academic community to people within industry and students. He has presented his work both at scientific conferences as well as seminars for industry.
